Frequently asked questions

Is this scorecard really free?

Yes — download the PDF and print as many copies as you want. No email address, no signup, no watermark across the grid. It's our way of being useful to the youth baseball community (and if you ever get tired of the pencil, our app is here).

Does it work for softball?

Yes. The grid, symbols, and position numbers are identical for baseball and softball. Softball games are usually 7 innings, so you'll simply leave the last two columns empty.

How do I fill out a baseball scorecard?

Write each batter's result symbol (1B, BB, 6-3, K) in their box for the inning, darken the diamond as they advance around the bases, and circle the out number when a batter or runner is retired. Our free scoring guide walks through every symbol step by step.

Is there an easier way than paper?

Paper works, but you carry a clipboard, do the stat math by hand, and hope the book survives the season. Baseball Stats Tracker replaces it: tap each at-bat on your phone and the box score, season stats, and spray charts build themselves. One-time $39, no subscription.
